Nvidia releases Game Ready driver for Resident Evil Requiem, then pulls download following reports of critical failures

Nvidia recently released the GeForce Game Ready 595.59 WHQL driver, bringing significant optimizations for the launch of Resident Evil Requiem and the playtest for Bungie’s upcoming shooter, Marathon. However, the rollout has been marred by severe technical issues, leading the company to temporarily pull the download links.

The new software is highlighted by the introduction of DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation support for Resident Evil Requiem, the latest entry in Capcom's horror franchise, which debuts today featuring full Path Tracing. For Marathon, the driver enables DLSS Super Resolution and Nvidia Reflex, aiming for the lowest possible latency during competitive matches. Additionally, the update includes support for CUDA 13.2.

Despite the promised performance gains, several users have reported critical bugs following installation, including failures in GPU fan control, which could lead to hardware overheating. In response, Nvidia issued an official statement suggesting that affected users rollback to the stable 591.86 WHQL version while a definitive fix is being developed.

The update also listed a series of fixes for titles such as The Ascent, Total War: Three Kingdoms, and Final Fantasy XII, alongside resolving performance drops in Quantum Break. However, given the potential risk to hardware, the current recommendation is to wait for the corrected build.
